I want to see the light of day

Brid

In this place, time passes slowly, very slowly. I have tried to stop crying, and I manage, but because I am dry. This pain in my chest does not go away, though. Kael's abandonment is killing me.

“Leaf, our mates no longer love me. If you could have been with me when he found me, you would know they believed them more than me. His mate. That hurts a lot. In all my years of knowing him, I only showed him love, loyalty, and devotion. At least he would have given me the courtesy of the doubt. Leaf, if you were here, my pain wouldn't be so great.”

Since I got here, all I do is talk to Leaf. I know that she does not listen because she also abandoned me. But inside me, I still harbour the hope that at any moment she will resurface.

I looked around me again. Maybe something has changed since I last opened my eyes. There is nothing to entertain my mind, nothing. I don't know how many days have passed, probably two or three. How do I know? The first day I got here was the only time I saw Simon. Fortunately, he has left me alone, but I have not had food or water either. My body is screaming for sustenance, and my injuries have not been treated.

I pulled up my pants to my knee. The wound has closed and is covered in a dirty, ugly scab. There is nothing that I can do, but the good thing it didn't look infected. Or the pain would be killing me. And the blow to my head, too. I would like to see how it goes. The headache, at least it's gone.

Suddenly, a noise drew attention. Instantly, I started shaking. Could it be Simon? That Wolf hates me. I can only expect the worst from him. However, I need to be brave if I want to live another day. I still hope that Kael will come for me.

The steps were getting closer until I saw his silhouette in front of the gate. Then, I raise my head. Simon looked at me with disdain and a wicked grin.

“What have I done to you to treat me like this?” The words came out of my mouth without being able to stop them. And when I realized what I had done, it was too late. My eyes widened, showing the panic that was growing rapidly in me.

“Tsk, Tsk. Luna. No one gave you permission to speak. In fact, no one wants to hear your disgusting voice. Who knows what nasty things you have done with it?” The insult was direct. Since I found Kael, it's just been him. Not even in my thoughts have I harboured any desire for someone else. Simon should know. In fact, everyone should know. That only confirms the terrible truth. No one really knows me in this pack, and they only looked for me because I am Luna or was. Nothing more.

I felt so sad about it, I put my head down, trying to hide my pain. But Simon came with a purpose, I just had to wait to find out.

“Part of the services of this five-star hotel,” Simon spread his arms showing me all around. “It's the bathroom, yes Luna, today it's your shower. Don't take it badly, but you stink. All the dirt you have outside, and inside, bothers me seriously.”

How? A bathroom? Finally, I will be able to remove all this dirt accumulated for days. However, my excitement did not last long, since his face only promised more pain. I took a few breaths of air, trying to calm my anxiety. What is he planning to do with me?

Without saying anything else, Simon opened the cell door and entered. He headed towards me, and I, stuck closer to the wall, as if that prevented him from touching me.

“Don't come near me, Simon, don't.” However, he didn't listen to me, he grabbed a handful of my hair and dragged me out of the cell. I was trying desperately to get his hands off me.

“Silence, Luna.”

Simon dragged me down the corridor, and we reached the entrance, where the door was, which, I think, was the bathroom. He opened it, and it was indeed a bathroom. When we entered, he released me, leaving me on the floor. I looked around, trying to determine if he would really let me shower. But there were no showers. Just a toilet and nothing else, the place was empty.

“Do not move from where you are, not even a millimetre,” saying that he left. My heart was trembling, anticipating what Simon would do to me. I did not have to wait long because he was carrying a huge hose?

My eyes began to fill with tears while Simon put the hose down and turned to me.

“Now, Luna, you're going to take off all your clothes and stand in the corner,” he pointed his finger where I was supposed to go. I swallowed hard. It was not difficult to know what he was going to do.

“NOW! Don't make me repeat the order one more time.”

With my head down, I got up off the ground slowly and walked to the corner that he had told me. While there, I turned my back on him and began to undress little by little. I still had the hunter's clothes on.

When the last garment finally left my body, I waited for what was next with my heart in my throat.

“Turn around, Luna.” My tears were falling like torrents. The humiliation that this man was making me suffer was a lot.

I turned around slowly, hiding my pain from his eyes. I tried to keep my face expressionless, but it was impossible.

“Wow, you are beautiful. Not for anything, you managed to fool so many wolves. But HEY! Instead of being a wolf, you should have been a FOX. Ha, ah, ha. That's right, a fox would describe you better.”

And without further ado, Simon pointed the hose at me and the icy water hit my entire body. The force of the impact made me hit the wall. I raised my hands to cover my face. That was the best I could do. The water pressure was suffocating me, making it difficult to breathe.

This lasted a few minutes, when finally, the torture finished, and I was panting, trying to catch my breath. Simon dropped the hose and ordered me out of the bathroom. I was freezing, with my teeth snapping against each other. I couldn't return the heat to my body.
